Social Value Matters 2021: Leading Our Transition To A Sustainable World
Social Value Matters (#SVM) is the annual conference organized by Social Value International (SVI) and our global network.
Social Value Matters conferences, shaped and delivered by the global community of members and wider networks in which Social Value International are connected, provide a combination of world-class thought-leadership content and highly interactive workshops to create the standards and practice that can help to create a more sustainable, equitable and positive future.
Building on the success of conferences held in London, Milan, Istanbul, Taipei and Toronto (virtually in 2020), the SVM2021 conference will be held from Bangkok, Thailand on the 20th and 21st October 2021.
The conference will take place both in person in Bangkok (for those who are able to travel) and virtually for the global audience, and will bring together leading voices from impact investing, academia, policy making, corporate sustainability, and practice to create a truly global event that celebrates and advances the developments of social value and impact management.
With little more than 8 years to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and no country on target to achieve these by 2030, the future can seem bleak. However the global response to COVID-19 shows that the world can work together to create the rapid responses required to solve the large-scale challenges that people and the planet face.
This year’s conference will harness the power of the global SVI communities to focus the imperative and potential to build back better and to ensure that we create a sustainable and more equitable future for all.
The theme for SVM2021 is “Leading the transition to a sustainable world” – a theme that could (and should be) a central theme for many initiatives now and the years to come. With SVM2021, the social value movement brings a wealth of pertinent concepts, approaches, joint learnings and shared insights to be applied to this central theme.
We invite all leaders, practitioners, members, corporates, policy makers, academics, non-profits, to come together for a groundbreaking conference that will help us collectively understand a broader definition of value that protects people and planet. SVM2021 will be a highly interactive conference, and will leave attendees feeling connected to the global community with a clear action plan to change the way the world accounts for value.
